Can Eyelashes Be Trimmed To Grow Longer?

Most people have heard that trimming eyelashes helps to make them grow longer and thicker? Some of them tried to do it.
Just like other hair on our body, eyelash growth will go through three stages as well.

Anagen (Growth) Phase: During this stage eyelash will grow actively, which will lasts 30-45 days. Each lash will grow to a specific length and then stop.

Catagen (Transition) Phase: lash will stop growing and follicle will shrink as well. This phase lasts about 2-3 weeks.

Telogen (Resting) Phase: This phase can last more than 100 days, it is between eyelash falling phase and eyelash growing phase.

In fact, cutting down eyelashes will not make eyelashes grow longer, sometimes it will even cause the risk of eye infection. Eyelash length is just controlled by each person’s genetics.
And why do some people claimed their eyelashes grow longer after trimming?

Study showed that when trimming lashes, it creates a blunt surface that appears to be fuller and thicker. Cutting doesn’t actually make it grow faster, but just creates the illusion that it does.
Therefore it is not advised to cut down eyelashes. If you want to enhance naturally longer, thicker and darker eyelashes, you can take a try of these product: FEG serum, latisse or careprost eye drop. Which will help you grow the expected lashes. However, do remember, once you stop using the products, your lashes will return to the previous appearance.
